The Magnificent 7-24 Method

WELCOME TO THE SCREENING ROOM

Some of you won’t have the patience to dig through every page of a site like this, and that’s fair.

In these two instructional videos, I cover the core material in a more streamlined way. If you’re a visual learner, find a quiet spot and stream them. Each runs about an hour and will give you a solid introduction to three-act structure, plot points, and the Magnificent 7.

My recommendation is to read the entire site first, then watch the videos to reinforce what you’ve learned. But you’re a grown adult. You can take the scenic route or the shortcut. Either way, the destination’s the same.

The Magnificent 7-24 Video Lessons

Part 1

This is the first video in our two-part series. In this section, we focus on the basics: three-act structure, act breaks, and a little bit of movie math. While some of this material may already be familiar, please watch this video before moving on to Part II, where we introduce the 24 Plot Points and the Magnificent 7. It will be worth your time.

Part 2

In this second of two videos, we take a deep dive into the bones of the Magnificent 7-24 Method. The good news is, this isn’t complicated. Everything we’re about to cover, from individual plot points to the Magnificent 7, is designed to be clear, practical, and easy to apply to your own story.
